Frequently asked questions
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel anytime from your account. Monthly plans stop at the end of the current period. Annual plans are billed once per year and do not include prorated refunds.
What if Pro isn't useful in the first 7 days?
Email hello@getprospecta.ai within 7 days of your first Pro charge and we'll refund it in full — no forms, no sales calls. We'd rather give you your money back than have you stay on a plan that isn't earning its keep.
Is the assessment really free?
Yes — the 6-minute assessment is free forever and requires no account or credit card. You'll get your division tier, an honest recruiting take, and your single most important next step. Pro unlocks the complete school list, full metrics targets, the 30/90/365-day action plan, and coach outreach emails.
Does the free plan include Scout?
No. Scout — including proactive alerts, AI-drafted outreach, coach change notifications, and the weekly recruiting brief — is available on Pro only. The free plan gives you the assessment and your Reality Report so you can see what's realistic before deciding to upgrade.
How is this different from NCSA or CaptainU?

Will you sell or share my family's data?
No. We don't sell personal information. Prospecta is built specifically for parents of minor athletes — privacy is a hard requirement. See our Privacy Policy for the full details on what we collect, why, and how we protect it.
What if my athlete plays multiple sports?
Pro covers up to 5 athletes per family — you can run separate assessments for each athlete or each sport. Many families assess a single athlete across two sports to see which path is more realistic.
Do you work for international or homeschool athletes?
Yes for homeschool — many of our users are homeschool families. For international athletes, the assessment works for any athlete competing for NCAA D1/D2/D3 or NAIA programs in the US. Sport-specific benchmarks (UTR, club tier, measurables) translate directly.
What happens after I subscribe?
You immediately unlock the full Pro view of your most recent assessment — Reality Score radar, complete Reach/Target/Likely school list, metrics targets, action plan, and the coach outreach email generator. You can re-assess your athlete every 90 days to track progress.
How does Prospecta know what division my athlete fits?
Each sport has division-level benchmarks based on the real metrics coaches use to recruit — UTR for tennis, club tier and circuit for soccer/lacrosse/baseball/softball/volleyball, measurables and 40-time for football, height and AAU level for basketball. The AI evaluates your athlete's profile against those benchmarks honestly rather than optimistically.
